While obtaining an injury on a limb, with no communication device or any other equipment, except two items each. Can they overcome hypothermia and find their 20 km way back to civilization? This is part 1 of 2, where we try and get a fire going and establish ourselves for the night to come. Also check out part 2: with overnight stay and the hike back to civilization. Part 2: https://youtu.be/chDNrLdugu0 This was a challenge given to us, by the winner of our 20k subscriber giveaway! We were on private ground, with the property owners on standby, ca. 5 minutes away, in case of 'real emergency'. This was a very important part in doing this dangerous challenge. Another Japanese Chef's knife! This shape is inspired by Nakiri knives typical Japanese-style vegetable knife but with a western full tang construction and a general utility bevel geometry. The steel is 02 high carbon. Handle is made of ebony and teak (or oak, not sure) both aged well by a luthier and white vulcanized fiber liners. The pins are all brass with the middle one in mosaic made by me in a previous ideo. Clarification: With the words "inspired by Nakiri knives" I wanted to point out that this knife is not an actual nakiri. The handle construction, bevel geometry and thickness have pretty much nothing to do with traditional japanese knives. This knife has been made to be used as a general purpose knife, that's why is thicker than you might expect! In this video I used many homemade tools I built in the past, most of them can be found in the following playlist: ★Knifemaking Playlist★ https://goo.gl/K1p09E ★Follow me★ Facebook ► https://www.facebook.com/BlackBeardPr... And, hydrocyanic acid, found in Almonds, is burned off when heated, this is why we roasted them. And lastly, the spines of Lion Fish are toxic if they stick you, the fish meat is not, it is very commonly eaten, so we cut the spines off and were all set. Videos are focused on primitive skills, rewilding, nature awareness, living off the land, off grid living, indigenous skills, shelter building, primitive fire, water purification, trapping, hunting, bow making, flint knapping, primitive pottery, basketry, edible and medicinal plant preparation and numerous indigenous skills. I began studying wilderness survival when I was 17 in order to have the ability to spend extensive periods of time in nature, seeking out empowerment and without the need for external sources. I began studying in 1993 under Tom Brown Jr eventually teaching for Tracker Inc. I sought-out every old Native American teacher I could and eventually traveled the world living in very remote indigenous villages in the Amazon, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Peru. My school teaches survival and primitive skills, nature awareness, how to live off the land, re-wilding, prepare for disasters. I strongly believe that experiencing survival living changes the way people approach their entire lives.
I wanted to find out how a $30 5 Star Amazon reviewed axe compares to my $150 Gransfors Buks Small Forest Axe. You might be surprised! We tested it with chopping a hardwood tree and a softwood tree and then we split some firewood with it! Kukri versus Knives, Saw and Axe. All tools have their tasks, but can the kukri outperform the others in multiple challenges?
We do all from chopping, bucking, splitting, carving of wood, fire lighting and cooking.
Inspired on our popular Axe vs Knife video, in the freezing rain in Poland, during our winter bushcraft trip! After a long and exhausting day, the bean burgers made a lovely meal!
Hope you guys liked it, Please tell us what you think! Cheers. Julius & Dylan
