That’s according to the Liverpool Echo. The Spaniard is out of contract at the Reds at the end of this season having spent five years at Anfield. Given Moreno’s status as back up to Andy Robertson, Liverpool have not tabled an extension - nor do they plan to before the summer. The former Sevilla star has played just five times this season and has spoken out against Klopp over his lack of game-time. The 26-year-old was pictured with Lucas Leiva on Instagram in Rome to reportedly pen a pre-contract deal this week. The pair were good friends at Liverpool, having spent three seasons together before Lucas joined Serie A outfit Lazio in 2017. But the Echo adds that Moreno is not necessarily under any obligation to inform Liverpool over his next move - having not said whether or not he plans to join Lazio. Moreno cost Liverpool £12million when he signed under Brendan Rodgers in the summer of 2014 but his stock at the club fell due to disappointing performances. Having started just two of the Merseyside outfit’s 31 games this season, Moreno is surplus to requirements. But he could be called upon when Liverpool host Porto in the first leg of the Champions League quarter finals next month. That’s because Roberston picked up a yellow card in a win at Bayern Munich earlier this month to rule him out of the tie. Veteran midfielder James Milner, however, could be seen as a more reliable option having spent the full 2016-17 season in the position following Moreno’s horrendous display in the Europa League final - which Liverpool lost 3-1 to his former club Sevilla. The Independent claim that Real Betis had shown interest in Moreno but that the player’s ties to arch rivals Sevilla meant a deal was unlikely. Lazio’s rivals Roma were also linked but appear to have changed targets after sporting director Monchi left the club. Moreno’s departure will however leave Liverpool without a natural back-up left-back in the senior squad. Klopp could look to promote highly-rated under-23 talent Adam Lewis - who has previously trained with the first team at Melwood. The Liverpool-born 19-year-old has impressed for the club’s youth team and signed a new long-term contract with the club back in February.
This was supposed to be the moment for Naby Keita, an occasion ready-made for him to finally stamp his authority on the Liverpool midfield. A return to the awe-inspiring Allianz Arena home of Bayern Munich, against whom he'd enjoyed many a tussle during his time at RB Leipzig, under the lights on a Champions League night. Yet when the Liverpool squad departed John Lennon Airport on Tuesday afternoon, Keita was nowhere to be seen, absent with a minor injury. It's been that kind of a season for the £52.75million, every step forward followed by at least one backwards as niggling concerns continue to hamper attempts to adapt to new surrounds. Key points of Klopp's press conference ahead of Bayern Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains convinced Keita's time will come, even if the Guinean is taking longer than most would have expected to truly catch fire at Anfield. Keita's experience would have put him in serious contention to start against Bayern, not least after impressing in the goalless first leg. Instead, Klopp now faces a significant decision over the make-up of his engine room. Bayern boss Niko Kovac will be bolstered by the return of the attack-minded Leon Goretzka, absent three weeks ago. James Rodriguez is likely to be the man to make way. That, though, is unlikely to influence Klopp, who must essentially choose whether to stick or twist from the opening whistle. For all the latest build-up to Bayern Munich clash click HERE An away goal would change the complexion of the tie, meaning Liverpool need only a draw to progress and perhaps prompt Bayern to show their attacking hand. But caution could be the watchword for Klopp, particularly during the opening stages when Bayern's passionate home crowd will no doubt look to their team to make the running. Fabinho's form since November has made him one of the first names on the teamsheet. He was missing from the midfield in the home leg having dropped back to plug a central defensive hole alongside Joel Matip with Virgil van Dijk suspended and Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez both injured. Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum joined Keita in the first leg, and would be regarded favourites to join Fabinho in the midfield three. However, the performance of Adam Lallana against Burnley on Sunday and the likely availability of James Milner, who missed out at the weekend through injury, give Klopp options, although Xherdan Shaqiri's Bayern return is almost certain to begin among the substitutes. Milner offers intrigue. The 33-year-old has been Klopp's go-to guy on the road in Europe – Milner has started Liverpool's last seven away Champions League games – and has rarely disappointed. Then there's the possibility of Wijnaldum being benched, Klopp revealing after the Burnley win that the Dutchman, substituted during the second half, appeared tired. Fabinho and skipper Henderson appear certainties, leaving one final midfield position up for grabs. Whoever else starts in the Allianz
