Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne has candidly opened up in an interview about his recent injury struggles and claims he feels as fit as ever.
The 27-year-old defender, who earns £70,000-a-week at Anfield according to Total Sportek, only managed to make five appearances across all competitions for the Reds in his 2017/18 campaign.
Clyne revealed that being on the sidelines did affect him but shared that he was now looking forward to pre-season in order to start proving to people that he was back and as good as ever.
“They were tough times, it was difficult, for sure,” said Clyne in an interview with Goal.
“To be out for so long is frustrating, and the fact that it came during pre-season probably made it even worse. Then to eventually have to have surgery, that was another setback, it was tough.
“You’re there, and the players are all going out to train while you’re off to the gym or the physio room, day after day. You’re on the bike or whatever, and that’s all you can do. It does affect you.=========================================================
