Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern are just about getting over their side’s disappointing 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last month, in turn seeing the Reds fail to clinch a sixth European crown. Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their meeting with the two-times defending champions off the back of beating Porto, Manchester City, and Roma en route to the showpiece, and thus full of confidence that they could get the job done in Kiev on May 26. However, the Merseyside giants were second-best, and a brace from Gareth Bale alongside Karim Benzema’s opener sealed victory for Real, thus securing a third straight Champions League title, and 13th in their illustrious history.
The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned about their side’s goalkeeping situation. They’re yet to replace Loris Karius or Simon Mignolet, and neither player has done anything to indicate that they’re good enough to be Jurgen Klopp’s first choice next season. Unfortunately, though, according to the Mirror, that’s a problem that, at the moment, is looking almost unsolvable. Many of their apparent shortlisted targets – like Jan Oblak and Alisson – are likely to be unavailable, and that obviously leaves the club in a bit of a difficult position. The Reds, then, will be forced to go down a bit of an unknown path to try and solve the issue. Fortunately, they could find the perfect solution over in France – as our landlord thinks that Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont would be a brilliant choice.
Cillessen Wants Out.Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with Dutch stopper in recent weeks, and the player - who has made just one league start during two seasons at the Camp Nou - is keen on exiting. Reports this morning say the goalkeeper has informed Barca chiefs of his intentions to leave should an offer materialise, but the player is also said to be unwilling to force an exit. Ernesto Valverde is reportedly an admirer of the stopper and would like to keep him as his back-up goalkeeper========================================================= References: -https://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-fc-transfer-news-live-14777526
Liverpool FC are ready to make a surprise swoop to sign Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, according to a report in England. Website 90Min is reporting that the Reds are interested in a potential deal to sign the England international in the summer transfer window. The same article states that the 26-year-old Englishman has a contract with Premier League side Burnley until 2020. According to the same story, Burnley would be prepared to sell Pope for a transfer fee in the region of £15m in the current transfer market. Jurgen Klopp is thought to approve of the price tag and feels Pope would represent bette value for money than some of their other summer targets.========================================================= References: -https://www.thesportreview.com/2018/06/liverpool-fc-transfer-news-nick-pope-bid/

One of the biggest transfer moves of the summer so far is about to happen. Monaco forward Thomas Lemar is set to sign for Atletico Madrid in the next few days. That move could have a knock on effect on the Liverpool transfer plans in the coming months.
There is the obvious effect that Lemar was once a Liverpool target. The Reds were looking at the Frenchman late last summer and again in January as a quick replacement for Philippe Coutinho. They were priced out of a move by a prohibitive valuation of £70 million. Liverpool walked away from that deal but there are a handful of other ways Lemar moving can still have influence on the Reds.=========================================================
