Donald Trump’s rambling explanation of what happened at the G7 with Justin Trudeau

After the North Korea summit, Trump said Trudeau’s defiant stance against U.S. tariffs ‘is going to cost a lot of money for the people of Canada’. Trump discusses the now-famous photo of him sitting cross-armed across from German Chancellor Angela Merkel (“It was reported as sort of nasty both ways), his understanding of Canada’s trade surplus with the U.S. (“It’s either 17 but it could actually be 100”) and Trudeau’s press conference after the G7 summit (“Justin probably didn’t know that Airforce One has about 20 televisions”). North Korea, South Korea agree to end war, denuclearize the peninsula

The nations signed an armistice when the fighting ended in 1953, but have now agreed to pursue a proper peace agreement.

Trump takes questions on North Korea deal

President Trump was asked during a press conference following his summit with Kim Jong Un about why specific details of North Korea's plan to denuclearize were not included in the agreement the two leaders signed.

Trump says Kim is "already destroying a major missile site".

This detail is not in the joint declaration because the two leaders agreed it after the document was created, he says.
"We can replace the horrors of battle with the blessings of peace," Trump continues.

"There's no limit to what North Korea can achieve when it gives up its nuclear weapons," he says.

He says the rest of the world "really wants to engage with North Korea".

Kim could be "remembered as the leader who ushers in a new era of prosperity for his people", he says.
