In this video I will show you three do it yourself devices that will charge your phone. They can be really quite useful depending on your situation. Obviously the most convenient way is to use the included charger and plug it in the socket. However, you could find yourself in a situation with no electricity nearby. Project 1: This is a very useful power bank that will charge itself by the integrated 6V solar panel. Charging through the solar panel takes many days, but the lithium-ion cells are able to hold 2 full charges for your phone. Making this device really quite useful in many real situations. Project 2: This is probably the least convenient way to charge your phone as it is very slow and is fairly expensive. By using half a dozen peltier modules we can convert the heat from candles into usable electricity to charge our phone. A thermoelectric generator will begin converting enough electricity to charge the phone once the temperature difference is great enough. This is why we use candles (hot) on the underside of the contraption and cooling water (cold) on the topside. Project 3: I found a small DC electric motor with a gearbox, and I knew that if we are able to spin the shaft fast enough it would be able to generate electricity for us to charge our phone with. I used Fusion360 to design and 3D print the parts. It all snapped together nicely and worked better than expected. I didn't have to rotate the handle fast at all for the charging to begin. In this video, I will show what is inside a mobile phone charger and remove all the components so that we can use them later. I have made this video with a damaged mobile charger, so do not try this with any working mobile charger. I will not be responsible if any damage caused.
