The Girl Who Lives In A Bowl

SUBSCRIBE to the Barcroft network: http://bit.ly/Oc61Hj A TEENAGE girl born without limbs lives her life in a plastic bowl. Rahma Haruna is a bright, happy girl, despite suffering from a mystery condition that stopped her arms and legs developing properly - leaving her practically limbless and in constant pain. The 19-year-old, from Kano, Nigeria, was born a healthy baby but when she turned six months old her growth came to a sudden halt and she stopped hitting key development milestones. Rahma’s family do their best to provide her with a fulfilling life and transport her around the village in a plastic bowl. Doctors have been baffled by Rahma’s condition and some have even put it down to the teenager being struck down by jinns - a supernatural being in Islam mythology.  Videographer / director: Ibrahim Ayyuba Isah Producer: Charley Sutton, Ellie Winstanley Editor: Joshua Douglas, Marcus Cooper Barcroft TV: https://www.youtube.com/user/barcroftmedia/featured Barcroft Cars: https://www.youtube.com/user/BarcroftCars/featured Bear Grylls Adventure: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzcUNwS7mypzPhW4gsjO7og/featured For more of the amazing side of life: For the full story, visit BARCROFT.TV: http://www.barcroft.tv/ Like BARCROFT TV on Facebook: https://www.Facebook.com/BarcroftTV Follow @Barcroft_TV on Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/Barcroft_TV Check out more videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/barcroftmedia/videos

Daring Abroad: Opportunities that exist for Kenyans in Nigeria

One of the highlights of this year’s budget is a deliberate effort by the government of Kenya to enhance ease of doing business for foreign investors, especially from Africa. This is in line with the Jubilee administration’s economic diplomacy. One of Kenya’s targets is Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria. But just what can be done to get a share of Nigeria’s pie and what opportunities exist for Kenyans in Nigeria? That is the focus of today’s daring abroad with Alex Chamwada. 600 years of Chinese bloodline in Kenya

According to legends,a team of Chinese sailors survived a shipwreck in the Indian Ocean waters and settled in Lamu Island. Historians contend the sailors were part of a fleet sent by the legendary Chinese navigator Zheng He. Six centuries later, the descendants of these Chinese sailors are visible in Lamu where China's ancient Maritime Silk road terminates. In Siyu village, archeologists have discovered artifacts like porcelain and coins that were symbols of the Ming dynasty. Mwamaka and her family are among the ones who are living testimony of the earliest contacts between Kenya and China. It was in 2002 that a team of distinguished Kenyan and Chinese researchers carried a DNA analysis on Mwamaka's 63-year-old mother and discovered that she has Chinese genetics. Soon afterwards, the Chinese government offered Mwamaka a scholarship to study Chinese traditional medicine in China. Kenyan and Chinese archeologists have been tracing evidence of ancient contacts in the Kenyan coast .They hope to find the the shipwreck to help unearth all artifacts symbolizing ancient cultural and trade ties.

How good or effective is the plastic bag ban in Kenya? Is it well implemented? Doesn't it hurt some while enriching some?
