How to Paint Stripes on a Wall

Want to make a bold, unique statement in your home? Professional contractor and FrogTape® spokesperson Tom Bury shows you how to paint level, even stripes on your walls. The choices for stripes are endless. You can run stripes vertically to make your room look taller, or horizontally to make the room look more spacious. The width of your stripes will determine how busy your wall appears and how much work you’ll put into the project. For the best results, you’ll need a level or laser level, pencil, tape measurer and painter’s tape. FrogTape Delicate Surface features low adhesion tack meant for freshly painted surfaces, which will help you paint areas on your base coat. Check out the video for Tom’s full list of helpful tips. Bedroom Ideas: Painted Graphic Effects - Dulux

Lacking space in your bedroom? Fancy getting creative? We'll show you how create some beautiful painted graphic effects, like a painted headboard or a grid effect on your wall. Wondering what our Creative Director Marianne is doing with the chalk? It's called a plumb-line. A plumb line is a handy little device that you can use to create straight lines. Essentially it’s made up of a weight, a piece of string, and a piece of masking tape. The idea is that you tie the weight to the end of the string, tape the other end to the top of the wall you want to paint, and let the string drop. Once it’s stopped swinging, the string will be straight, so you can use this as your guide for marking lines onto your wall. Easy!
